Downtown Urgent Care is the ONLY urgent care ever to have featured in the BEST DOCTORS issue of Saint Louis Magazine. We are honored to be in this unpaid feature on page 126 of the August 2010 issue.

Billing Information

Person at computerWhen you arrive at Downtown Urgent Care, you will be required to register. During registration, you will be asked to provide information about yourself, your insurance coverage and make payment as applicable to your situation. This information will be stored in a computer file with a designated account number linking your medical and billing records.

After services are provided, Downtown Urgent Care processes all primary and secondary insurance claims and produces a billing statement. You will receive letters from us detailing your account status. Please read these letters for important information. If letters suggest that you call your insurance company to ensure coverage for the services provided by DUC, we ask that you do call your insurance provider.

If your insurance company/HMO determines that they will not pay the bill, you may become responsible for the outstanding balance. Therefore, it is important to keep up with the letters indicating your account status to ensure the expected insurance coverage is in place and that all possible issues with your bill have been resolved.

If you have no insurance, and do not qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, you may qualify for our financial assistance program.

We accept cash and all major credit cards.

Insurance Coverage
Most insurance covers a portion of your bill. Traditionally, you are responsible for paying the deductible (co-pay) and a percentage of other costs. Deductibles and co-payments are collected at the time of registration.

As a courtesy to you, we may bill your insurance company for you. You should receive copies of the visit statement sent to your insurer. This statement shows you the cost of your visit. We are fully aware that trying to understand the benefits, co-payments and other items that apply to your situation, can be rather an irritating process. If you need to chat with us about these issues, please contact us, or just walk in and ask us. We are here to help in any way we can, and we'd like you to think of us as your friendly neighborhood medical center, and a vital part of your community.
